About the organisation
Basic details : Mothers’ Initiatives Africa (MIA) is a civil society not-for-profit organisation incorporated in 2014 as a company limited by Guarantee under the laws of Uganda.
Mothers’ Initiatives Africa (MIA) was born in 2013. The concept was to form a Charity Organization to help single mothers, widows, Orphans and Vulnerable Children who are HIV positive in the community to live a decent life.
MIA is a grassroots community based integrated empowerment programme. It aims at empowering women and girls in order to liberate them in areas that are most vital to them which are; food insecurity, Healthcare, Psychosocial support, Legal assistance and entrepreneurship/economic growth and living with HIV/AIDS, water, hygiene and sanitation as a means to reduce on the number of OVCs dropping out of school among others.
Mission : Mothers Initiatives Africa (MIA) is dedicated to investing in all round empowerment of women and girls, through health and social services provision, skills development, education, for these vulnerable groups of women and their families through its community based programmes and strategic partnerships which will help them attain financial independence sustainable livelihoods.
Vision : A sustainable future for women, girls, grandmothers, Orphans and vulnerable Children in Uganda.
