After studying law, then notarial studies and a few years of activity in the notarial profession in Brussels, I went abroad for 13 years on different continents. My experience in Cameroon, where I lived for nearly 5 years, was the most decisive. By volunteering in the neighborhood and then in a pediatric clinic, I realized how much mothers, for lack of education and information, were not feeding their young children well and thus putting their (short and long time) health at risk. I then received more in-depth training on breastfeeding, food diversification, and malnutrition, while including the particularities of Cameroonian culture in order to better help mothers. In January 2016, I created the non-profit organization "Viallaite Cameroun" in order to give greater scope to my activity. Today, I head this association (on a voluntary basis) which - through 4 Cameroonian counselors and 17 partner health care centers - raises awareness and advises Cameroonian mothers on breastfeeding and food diversification matters to improve the health of young children and fight malnutrition.
