Marianne Vidler is the Program Manager for PRE-EMPT and is responsible for research leadership, direction, management planning, and implementation of PRE-EMPT-related projects across multiple international research jurisdictions. Marianne provides oversight to UBC-based project staff and activities for the research group. Marianne is also Assistant Editor at BioMed Central Reproductive Health. Marianne received a Bachelor of Arts (with honours) in Health Sciences and a Masters in Public Health at Simon Fraser University in 2011, where her research focused on the obstetric referral system in rural Mexico. Marianne has also completed her doctoral degree in Reproductive and Developmental Science in 2017 at UBC. Her doctoral research focused on community knowledge, attitudes and practices related to obstetric care in South Asia and Sub-Saharan Africa. Marianne is dedicated to positioning Vancouver as a leader in global maternal and child health. Marianne can be contacted at marianne.vidler@cw.bc.ca.

'Action On Sepsis' is a research excellence cluster at the University of British Columbia. This is an interdisciplinary networks of researchers focused on solving the key challenge of sepsis that faces society and transcends the traditional boundaries. Action on Sepsis will focus on three main themes, with each including several research directions. Each theme will bring together researchers exploring sepsis across the lifespan in both high- and low-resource settings to foster collaboration, knowledge-sharing, and cross-pollination. - Prevention, population and public health - Diagnosis - Management
